Operations Coordinator, Cell and Gene Therapies Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Operations Coordinator to join our Cell and Gene Therapies team at Marken. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in supporting the movement of cell and gene shipments through our network and that of our parent company, UPS.
Main Responsibilities:
- Provide operational support for the movement of cell and gene shipments, including coordinating with Control Tower Coordinators and liaising with logistics service providers.
- Utilize technology to monitor, manage, and control shipments, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to arrange and coordinate shipment solutions, including preparation and placement of packaging and equipment.
- Coordinate and dispatch drivers for collections and deliveries, ensuring timely and compliant execution.
- Work with the regulatory team to ensure trade compliance for all import and export shipments.
- Book shipments with airlines and integrators to ensure best routing solutions.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of cell and gene shipments with airlines and ground handling facilities.
- Label and prepare shipments for export, ensuring timely dispatch and compliance.
- Monitor and report on shipment performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Escalate any issues or delays to the Cell and Gene Management Team.
Requirements:
- PC/system literate with strong working knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Ability to adapt and deal with enquiries and day-to-day issues.
- Strong professional telephone manner and excellent communication skills.
- Able to think on their feet and work well under pressure.
- Experience in the courier or freight industry, with a focus on temperature-controlled shipping and security.
- Previous experience in exports, imports, and transport within an office environment.
- Previous experience within pharmaceutical logistics.
