Renesas is on the lookout for a motivated and proactive (Senior) Manager of Field Application Engineers (FAE) to join our Strategic Automotive Sales division. In this pivotal role, the selected candidate will collaborate closely with sales engineers and FAEs to provide exceptional support to key clients within Renesas' Digital and Analog & Power product offerings.
As a Senior Manager of Field Applications Engineers, you will serve as a vital link between our clients and various internal business units. Your primary objective will be to secure new business opportunities by guiding the Automotive Field Application Engineering team to establish itself as the trusted advisor for Automotive Tier 1s and partners through superior design-in assistance.
- Supervise the activities of the FAE team, ensuring they possess the necessary resources and processes to assist customers and partners throughout all phases of the development lifecycle.
- Participate in discussions or meetings with key clients to act as a technical authority; engage and coordinate Application Engineers and Marketing teams to fulfill customer inquiries.
- Monitor critical escalations and ensure that issues involving other engineering teams are addressed as needed; keep stakeholders updated on progress and provide advance notice to management regarding significant concerns.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of various Renesas products and associated technologies, including product specifications, capabilities, customer use cases, and more.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to devise strategies for a diverse range of Renesas products and technologies, particularly for global accounts that necessitate cross-regional coordination.
- Continuously enhance the technical proficiency of the FAE team to align with the evolving needs of Renesas and our automotive clientele.
- Work alongside business units to ensure that essential demonstrations are developed and align with customer expectations.
- Provide insights on product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies to Business Units.
- Collaborate with Application Engineering and Marketing teams to guarantee the availability and quality of product documentation and training materials.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to resolve complex technical requirements or customer documentation issues.
- Actively promote technical collaboration with FAE / AE / R&D / Marketing teams globally regarding new applications, product requirements, system architecture, customer support, and emerging standards.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for achievement and define development measures for the FAE team.
- Influence the creation and realization of the Sales team's long-term business strategies and objectives.
We are seeking a team-oriented individual with proven technical expertise and experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals are essential. A natural curiosity and eagerness to stay abreast of technological advancements, as well as the development of our customers, are highly valued. Additionally, a proactive approach to sharing knowledge and experience with both customers and team members is crucial. The ability to act independently while carefully assessing opportunities and risks is also required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar capacity is preferred, with personality and technical knowledge being paramount.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering and a successful history of cultivating customer relationships are essential.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding technical teams to support customers and partners effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills to align customer needs with available resources through energetic and proactive strategies.
- Strategic and commercial acumen to develop and organize efficient design-in plans for target accounts, with the ability to identify key projects and propose viable solutions.
- Ability to work autonomously with strong analytical capabilities, self-motivation, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in both German and English, along with mobility, are critical requirements for this position.
- A valid and existing residence and work permit for Germany or another EU country is mandatory.
