Mobile Equipment Service Technician

WHO MAY APPLY:
Current internal employees in Germany, including all local national staff of the U.S. Forces in Germany, such as U.S. Air Force personnel.
External applicants residing in Germany are also eligible.
The primary role of this position is to function as a Mobile Equipment Service Technician within the 405th Army Field Support Brigade (AFS) BASOPS Maintenance division (BMD). Responsibilities include:
- Conducting repairs and inspections on a diverse range of specialized vehicles and equipment, including construction machinery, forklifts, firefighting apparatus, sewage trucks, street sweepers, generators, cranes, truck platforms, trailers, and tactical vehicles.
- Performing comprehensive diagnostics to identify failures, followed by hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical repairs, minor bodywork, and touch-up painting.
- Utilizing various advanced technical procedures and methods to ensure high-quality work output.
- Completing additional tasks as assigned.
Educational and Training Requirements:
- E&T Level I, IIA, IIIB, IIIC, IVD, and V: not creditable.
- E&T Level IIB, IIIA: only creditable with a certificate in a trade closely related to the position (Automotive Mechanic/Automotive Electronics Mechanic, Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanic) plus two years of journeyman experience.
- E&T Level IVB, IVC: creditable with a certificate in a relevant trade.
- Applicants must possess a valid driver's license (Class B).
- A valid Class C driver's license is preferred.
- Basic proficiency in office automation software is required.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:
- English Level B1 and German Level B2 are required.
