Radio Access Network Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Radio Access Network Engineer to join our team at Tata Communications Transformation Services (TCTS) in Germany.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing Radio Access Network (RAN) solutions, ensuring high-quality network performance and reliability. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and deploying RAN infrastructure, including Baseband Units (BBUs), Remote Radio Heads (RRHs), and antennas.
  • Optimizing network performance through RF planning and optimization.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other network components.
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including site installation design documents and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
  • Providing technical support and guidance to field teams during deployment and maintenance activities.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Strong understanding of RAN technologies, including 4G and 5G.
  • Experience with RAN expansion activities, RF planning, and optimization.
  • Knowledge of BBU, RRH, CPRI, jumper, feeder, DC power, RET cable, and external alarm connectivity.
  • Understanding of battery banks, power plants, rectifiers, diesel generators, and mobile towers.
  • Basic knowledge of transmission equipment, including fiber, microwave, MUX, Cisco Router, and SFP.
  • Experience with infrastructure and RF field surveys.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Ericsson, Huawei, or Samsung radio products is desirable. Additionally, knowledge of Mini lens, Rosenberg, wide band antenna MQ4, CommScope, Huawei, Kathrein, or Argus RF antenna would be an asset.
