Role Overview
Your Career
The Solutions Consultant role represents a modern evolution of traditional Sales Engineering, focusing on how we can best assist our clients in comprehending their environments, offering solution insights, and ensuring they realize the value of their investment with Palo Alto Networks. In this role, you will provide technical leadership and expertise, guiding customers through their security transformation journey. You will be instrumental in defining technical solutions that align with critical business objectives and ensuring value realization throughout the product lifecycle. You will advocate for our industry-leading capabilities in on-premises, cloud, and security operations services, establishing Palo Alto Networks as the preferred cybersecurity partner for our clients.
Your Impact
Curiosity is fundamental to the Solutions Consultant position, where complex challenges are viewed as opportunities for learning and delivering innovative solutions. Your impact will be defined by:
- Achieving and surpassing sales targets by developing and executing strategic technical account plans aimed at cross-platform solutions.
- Your ability to position, demonstrate, and create high-level designs across the entire Palo Alto Networks portfolio based on customer business requirements.
- Conducting thorough discovery processes to understand and articulate the essential technical, operational, and commercial needs of prospects and clients.
- Collaborating closely with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams to ensure comprehensive customer implementation and solution adoption.
- Exhibiting strong communication skills and the capacity to influence through effective presentations, customer-specific demonstrations, technical engagements, and workshops.
- Leading successful technical validation initiatives based on best practices to secure technical wins in assigned opportunities.
- Coordinating supporting resources (Specialists, Channel Resources, Customer Support) to ensure a unified approach that demonstrates a cohesive strategy.
- Promoting comprehensive solutions that incorporate Palo Alto Networks and/or partner professional services to ensure clients achieve business value more rapidly.
- Understanding the competitive landscape and effectively differentiating our leadership.
- Continuously investing in your professional development to enhance technical and professional skills that contribute to customer success while actively engaging within the Solutions Consultant community and at industry events.
- Identifying technical stakeholders and nurturing relationships with key personas to build and drive a security architecture transformation roadmap.
Qualifications
Your Experience
- Proficiency in data networking and/or modern application design and cloud architectures.
- Experience delivering cybersecurity solutions that address technical challenges and influence new business initiatives.
- Ability to influence and secure buy-in from key stakeholders; prior experience in a pre-sales capacity is essential.
- Skills in creating and delivering technical presentations, workshops, or validation engagements.
- Experience in selling, designing, implementing, or managing one or more of the following solutions: Network Security, SASE, SaaS, Cloud Security, and/or SOC Transformation Technologies.
- Collaborating with Customer Support functions to ensure successful implementation and adoption of sold solutions.
- Experience with complex sales processes involving multiple buying centers and multi-product solutions is preferred.
- Proficiency in business-level German and English.
