Role Overview
Your Career
The Solutions Consultant role represents a modern evolution of traditional Sales Engineering, focusing on how we best assist our clients in comprehending their environments, offering solution guidance, and ensuring they derive value from their investments with Palo Alto Networks. In this position, you will provide technical leadership and expertise, guiding customers through their security transformation journeys. You will be instrumental in defining technical solutions that align with a customer's critical business objectives, ensuring they realize the value of their investment throughout the product lifecycle. You will advocate for our industry leadership in on-premises, cloud, and security operations services, establishing Palo Alto Networks as the cybersecurity partner of choice for your clients.
Your Impact
Curiosity is fundamental to the Solutions Consultant role, viewing complex challenges as opportunities for learning and delivering innovative solutions. You will define your impact through:
- Surpassing sales targets by developing and executing strategic technical account plans that focus on cross-platform solutions.
- Your capability to position, demonstrate, and create high-level designs across the entire Palo Alto Networks portfolio based on client business requirements.
- Conducting thorough discovery processes to understand and articulate the essential technical, operational, and commercial needs of your prospects and clients.
- Collaborating closely with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams to ensure comprehensive customer implementation and adoption of solutions.
- Exhibiting strong communication skills and the ability to influence through effective presentations, customer-specific demonstrations, technical engagements, and workshops.
- Leading successful technical validation initiatives based on best practices to secure technical wins in assigned opportunities.
- Coordinating supporting resources (Specialists, Channel Resources, Customer Support) to ensure a unified approach that demonstrates a cohesive strategy.
- Promoting comprehensive solutions that include Palo Alto Networks and/or partner professional services to ensure clients realize business value more quickly.
- Understanding the competitive landscape and effectively differentiating our leadership position.
- Continuously investing in your own development to enhance technical and professional skills that contribute to the success of our clients while actively engaging within the Solutions Consultant community and at industry events.
- Identifying technical stakeholders and fostering relationships with key personas to build and drive a security architecture transformation roadmap.
Qualifications
Your Experience
- Familiarity with data networking and/or contemporary application design and cloud architectures.
- Delivering cybersecurity solutions that address technical challenges and influence new business initiatives.
- Gaining buy-in from key stakeholders - prior experience in a pre-sales capacity is essential.
- Creating and delivering technical presentations, workshops, or validation engagements.
- Experience in selling, designing, implementing, or managing one or more of the following solutions - Network Security, SASE, SaaS, Cloud Security, and/or SOC Transformation Technologies.
- Collaborating with Customer Support functions to ensure successful implementation and adoption of sold solutions.
- Handling complex sales processes involving multiple buying centers and multi-product solutions is preferred.
- Proficiency in business-level German and English.
