Position Overview
Your Career
The Solutions Consultant role represents the evolution of traditional Sales Engineering, focusing on how we best assist our clients in understanding their environments, providing solution guidance, and ensuring they realize the value of their investment with Palo Alto Networks. In this capacity, you will offer technical leadership and expertise, guiding customers through their security transformation journey. You will be instrumental in defining technical solutions that secure critical business objectives and ensuring value realization throughout the product lifecycle. You will advocate for our industry leadership in on-premises, cloud, and security operations services, establishing Palo Alto Networks as the cybersecurity partner of choice for your clients.
Your Impact
Curiosity is fundamental to the Solutions Consultant role, viewing complex challenges as opportunities for learning and delivering innovative solutions. You will define your impact through:
- Achieving and surpassing sales targets by developing and executing strategic technical account plans that focus on cross-platform solutions.
- Your ability to position, demonstrate, and create high-level designs across the entire Palo Alto Networks portfolio based on customer business requirements.
- Conducting thorough discovery to comprehend and articulate the key technical, operational, and commercial priorities of your prospects and clients.
- Collaborating closely with Professional Services, Customer Success, and Specialist teams to ensure comprehensive customer implementation and adoption of solutions.
- Demonstrating strong communication skills and the ability to influence through effective presentations, customer-specific demonstrations, technical engagements, and workshops.
- Leading successful technical validation efforts based on best practices to ensure technical success in assigned opportunities.
- Coordinating supporting resources (Specialists, Channel Resources, Customer Support) to ensure a unified approach that showcases a cohesive strategy.
- Promoting comprehensive solutions that include Palo Alto Networks and/or partner professional services to ensure clients realize business value promptly.
- Understanding the competitive landscape and effectively differentiating our leadership.
- Continuously investing in your own development to enhance technical and professional skills that contribute to the success of our clients while actively participating in the Solutions Consultant community and industry events.
- Identifying technical stakeholders and fostering relationships with key personas to build and drive a security architecture transformation roadmap.
Qualifications
Your Experience
- Proficiency in data networking and/or modern application design and cloud architectures.
- Delivering cybersecurity solutions that address technical challenges and influence new business initiatives.
- Gaining buy-in from key stakeholders - prior experience in a pre-sales role is essential.
- Creating and delivering technical presentations, workshops, or validation engagements.
- Experience in selling, designing, implementing, or managing one or more of the following solutions - Network Security, SASE, SaaS, Cloud Security, and/or SOC Transformation Technologies.
- Collaborating with Customer Support functions to ensure successful implementation and adoption of sold solutions.
- Experience with complex sales involving lengthy processes with multiple buying centers and multi-product solutions is preferred.
- Proficiency in business-level German and English.
