Project Manager

Munich Re is a global leader in reinsurance, specialty insurance, and digital solutions. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our IT Business Solutions team, responsible for delivering business value through the management of IT projects and products for our life and health businesses.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, schedule, resource, and dependency manage IT projects using our approved project management methodology.
- Estimate, scope, and execute projects for scope, time, budget, and quality.
- Manage business requirements and ensure agreement at all levels throughout the business.
- Document and manage project change control, risk, and issue management.
- Liaise with and manage suppliers to produce project deliverables.
- Coordinate project deliveries and ensure sign-off.
- Report project progress using agreed reporting lines, templates, and processes.
- Lead project teams and steering committee meetings, ensuring cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
- Manage escalations within the team, with project sponsors, and stakeholders.
- Manage bespoke software development and system integration using agile software development methodologies.
- Undertake learning of IT offerings to identify and provide business units with expertise and advice on how best to utilize within their business processes.
- Ensure compliance with obligatory rules, including regulatory requirements according to Munich Re policies and guidelines.
- University degree in IT or a comparable qualification.
- Qualifications and experience in one or more industry-recognized best-practice project management delivery methodologies, such as PMP, PRINCE2-certified, or Agile methodologies.
- Strong project delivery background, ideally from a consultancy, with recent experience in the financial services sector.
- Demonstrable experience in delivering critical and complex IT system-related projects within financial services.
- Experience in data transformation projects within the financial services sector.
- Proven experience in Agile software development and lifecycle methodologies, such as Scrum.
- Demonstrable change project management experience.
- Strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge and experience in state-of-the-art information technology.
- Ability to work with third parties and offshore development teams.
- Strong executive stakeholder project communications skills.
- Adaptable and able to work in a small team and often pressurized environment.
- Serious about success, motivated, and driven to succeed.
- Assertive and high level of personal commitment.
- Teamwork and conflict-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, orally and in writing, and to demonstrate active thinking skills.
- CII qualifications and ITIL-certified.
- Strong candidates would have held positions of Business Architect, Project/Programme Manager, Management Consultant, or Change Project/Programme Manager.
- Deep understanding of operational impacts from business and IT change.
- Experience in requirements engineering, business analysis, and translation of business demands into system specifications.
- Lloyds/Company Market (re)insurance experience with a good knowledge of products and markets.
