Role Overview

As a Silicon Carbide Device Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the innovation of power semiconductor devices tailored for the automotive electronics of tomorrow. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying current and future requirements from applications and ensuring they are met through advanced manufacturing processes, materials, and device concepts.
  • Conducting TCAD validation for new device concepts while overseeing the comprehensive development and integration of our SiC MOSFET technologies, particularly focusing on Front End Of Line (FEOL) processes.
  • Managing process runs, mask layouts, and component characterization in collaboration with both internal and external partners, evaluating results against established requirements.
  • Facilitating the introduction of new manufacturing processes and equipment into our semiconductor production until they are ready for series release.
  • Providing ongoing product support post-series release, including assisting with process and product transfers within our global manufacturing network.

Qualifications

  • Education: A completed degree in physics, semiconductor technology, material sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proficient understanding of standard semiconductor processes and manufacturing techniques; familiarity with simulation methods (including TCAD/FEM); experience in power semiconductor development, especially SiC, is advantageous; solid knowledge of statistical methods and problem-solving techniques.
  • Personality and Work Style: You possess a communicative and collaborative demeanor, characterized by a results-oriented approach.
  • Work Routine: You will engage with your team members on-site three days a week for personal interaction and collaboration.
  • Enthusiasm: A strong willingness to work independently and collaboratively across departments in a complex environment.
  • Languages: Proficient in both written and spoken German and English.
