About the Position

As the City Operations Director, you will spearhead the expansion and success of Just Eat Takeaway in key urban areas across Germany. Your role will involve crafting and executing city-specific strategies that enhance both customer and partner experiences, in alignment with the overarching objectives of Just Eat Takeaway Germany. You will be instrumental in broadening our presence in these vibrant cities, collaborating across various departments and leading a dedicated team of subject matter experts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Vision: Formulate and oversee the strategic direction for your designated city, aiming to maximize market reach, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
  • Operational Management: Manage daily business operations, implementing strategies that are detailed, scalable, and adaptable. Promote continuous improvement initiatives to foster incremental enhancements and drive systemic changes across the city.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate and sustain robust relationships with essential stakeholders, including restaurant partners, delivery staff, local authorities, and customers.
  • Performance Monitoring: Actively track and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to assess the effectiveness of initiatives and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
  • Financial Oversight: Develop and manage budgets, guiding financial performance to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports on project progress, performance metrics, and strategic initiatives to senior management and stakeholders as required.
  • Innovation Leadership: Propel innovation initiatives and identify growth avenues to maintain Just Eat Takeaway's competitive edge in the food delivery sector.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all operations and projects adhere to relevant regulations, policies, and standards.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery within complex urban settings, with a preference for candidates possessing consulting experience or backgrounds in retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities, particularly in matrix organizations.
  • Exceptional documentation and presentation skills, with experience in communicating effectively to varied audiences.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to distill complex concepts into clear, persuasive narratives.
  • Fluency in both German and English, written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across major cities in Germany.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in profit and loss (P&L) management.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms and technology-driven logistics solutions.
  • Understanding of the German food delivery and quick commerce market, along with customer behavior trends.
