About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer to lead the development and validation of Schneider Electric's innovative power electronics technologies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating high-power converter solutions for medium-voltage applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop power electronic converter modules (converter submodules) for medium-voltage applications, including specification of key power electronic components and datasheet analysis.
  • Validation and Testing: Lead the validation and testing of power converter technology under realistic operating conditions, including laboratory testing of power converter submodules.
  • Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with the converter control algorithm development team to support innovative solutions and contribute to loss analysis and thermal modelling for converter submodules.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare design reports and maintain technical databases/repositories.

Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering would be preferred).
  • Experience: Several years of experience in power converter design, test, manufacturing, and field issues.
  • Simulation Experience: Simulation experience of power converters and sub-systems, including detailed knowledge of simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, etc.
  • Knowledge and Understanding: Knowledge and understanding of medium voltage design and control issues.
  • Architectural Option Analysis: Experience of architectural option analysis, trade-off, and selection including power topology.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to present results in a clear and concise manner, including technical report writing.
