We are in search of a skilled Lead Engineer specializing in power electronics and high-power converter technology. In this role, you will spearhead the design and testing of our innovative Smart Converter solutions, focusing on Direct-Connected Modular Medium-Voltage Converters and cutting-edge power electronics technologies.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and validate power electronic converter modules tailored for medium-voltage applications.
- Define specifications for key power electronic components and conduct datasheet evaluations considering factors like lead time, availability, and pricing.
- Engage in loss assessments and thermal modeling for converter submodules, establishing requirements for cooling systems.
- Construct and maintain test rigs to validate power converter technologies under realistic conditions.
- Prepare test specifications for back-to-back testing setups.
- Conduct laboratory evaluations of power converter submodules, including switching tests and thermal assessments.
- Collaborate with the control algorithm development team, providing innovative solutions based on MATLAB/Simulink.
- Assist the development team with HiL test specifications.
- Document findings in design reports and maintain technical databases.

- A degree in Electrical Engineering (MSc or PhD preferred).
- A minimum of several years experience in power converter design, testing, manufacturing, and addressing field challenges.
- Proficiency in simulation of power converters and subsystems, with expertise in tools like MATLAB/Simulink and PLECS.
- Solid understanding of medium voltage design and associated control challenges.
- Experience in architectural option analysis, including trade-offs and selection of power topologies.
- Ability to present results clearly, including technical report writing.
- Optional: Experience with high power converters (1 MW+), knowledge of Multilevel Converters, capability to perform FMECA analysis, and understanding of system availability and MTBF prediction.
