Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our Core Infrastructure Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and administering enterprise directory, identity and access management, monitoring/alerting systems, and corporate messaging.
Main Responsibilities
- Design and administer enterprise directory, identity and access management
- Design and administer monitoring/alerting systems
- Manage corporate messaging (Email)
- Co-manage high-end data storage, backup and archiving infrastructure
- Coordinate and oversee development projects with the WebDev Team
- Conduct technology evaluations and rapid prototyping
- Track and document support events and infrastructure development to ensure excellent service quality and end user satisfaction
- Continuously improve our IT infrastructure and support process based on the needs of EMBL users and stakeholders
Requirements
- Hold a degree in computer science or equivalent
- Have at least 5 years of professional experience in managing a medium to large-sized heterogeneous IT environment
- Be familiar with technologies such as NetApp, IBM TSM, MySQL, Cisco ESA, LDAP, Zabbix, FreeRADIUS, Ansible, and VMware
- Have solid experience in Linux system administration and advanced scripting skills
- Have a service-oriented attitude, good communication skills, and excellent knowledge of English
What We Offer
- Grading: Grade 6, 7, or 8, depending on qualifications and experience
- Monthly salary starting at €4,459, €5,117, or €5,882 after tax but excluding pension and insurances
