Position Overview
The Senior IT Systems Engineer will play a pivotal role in the management and enhancement of our core infrastructure services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and oversee the enterprise directory along with identity and access management systems.
- Implement and manage monitoring and alerting frameworks.
- Administer corporate messaging systems.
- Co-manage high-end data storage solutions, including backup and archiving systems.
- Coordinate with the Web Development Team on various development initiatives.
- Conduct technology assessments and rapid prototyping.
- Document and track support incidents and infrastructure advancements to maintain high service quality and user satisfaction.
- Drive continuous improvements in IT infrastructure and support processes based on user and stakeholder feedback.
Additional Information:
- Contract duration: 3 years (renewable up to 9 years).
- Grading: Grade 6, 7, or 8; based on qualifications and experience (monthly salary starting at €4,459, €5,117, or €5,882 after tax, excluding pension and insurance) + benefits.

Qualifications:
- A degree in computer science or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience managing a medium to large-scale heterogeneous IT environment.
- Proficiency with technologies such as NetApp (NFS/SMB), IBM TSM, MySQL, Cisco ESA, LDAP (OpenLDAP/FreeIPA/389 DS), Zabbix, FreeRADIUS, Ansible, and VMware.
- Familiarity with protocols including DNS, DHCP, SMTP, IMAP, SQL, and AAI (LDAP, RADIUS, SSO).
- Extensive experience in Linux system administration.
- Advanced skills in Perl, Python, and Shell scripting.
- Basic understanding of networking and IT security principles.
- A service-oriented mindset, strong communication skills, and excellent proficiency in English.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of the German language is a plus.
