Overview
Join the RWE IT Infrastructure team and contribute to transformative change and technical advancements within the organization. As a key member of the Cloud & Datacentre team, you will report directly to the Lead FinOps Practitioner. Your role will be pivotal in establishing the knowledge base, team dynamics, and policies necessary for our organization to effectively manage and optimize cloud expenditures.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

  • Leverage both native cloud and third-party cost management tools to enhance commercial strategies and achieve cost savings across our Azure cloud environment.
  • Provide expert insights into cloud cost optimization methodologies, including rightsizing, reserved instances, and scheduling strategies.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance custom reporting and dashboards utilizing the Power BI platform to facilitate regular cost reporting.
  • Collaborate closely with Cloud Engineering and Cloud Platform teams to implement cost-saving recommendations and industry best practices.
  • Design and execute a comprehensive FinOps governance framework and roadmap aimed at maximizing our cloud expenditure efficiency.

Essential Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive experience in cloud cost optimization and a solid understanding of the FinOps landscape.
  • A strong grasp of Azure computing technologies.
  • Familiarity with public cloud pricing models.
  • Experience in leading FinOps discussions with DevOps teams, documenting collaborative strategies, and setting objectives for evolving dashboard reports.
  • A proven track record in managing commitment-based savings plans for Azure and utilizing cloud cost management tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity and a willingness to travel as required.

Desirable Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following will be advantageous:

  • Certification at the foundational level for relevant Azure computing technologies.
