About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Professional to join our team at Blacklane. As the Head of Tax, you will play a key role in shaping our tax landscape and ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for all tax matters globally
  • Oversee all direct and indirect tax reporting in coordination with external tax advisors
  • Ensure that monthly, quarterly, and annual tax calculations for Blacklane are in accordance with local and international GAAP
  • Review and adjust existing tax processes and reporting in preparation for IPO
  • Regularly update the tax fact book and VAT risk assessment in relevant countries
  • Help design and implement tax policies and strategies
  • Prepare tax correspondence and research
  • Drive efficiency through digitizing and simplifying operations and processes
  • Lead tax audits
  • Lead ad-hoc projects and initiatives cross-functionally

About You

We are looking for a highly qualified and experienced tax professional with a strong background in direct and indirect tax. You should have a master's degree in a field of study related to tax and several years of international experience in the field of direct and indirect tax, ideally with a Tech and/or fast-growing company and/or in a tax advising company.

Requirements

  • Qualification as a German tax advisor or comparable is a plus
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and cooperate with the team to execute in a fast-paced environment
  • Result-oriented, comfortable working in a collaborative environment, and have an eye for continuously automating and improving processes
  • Profound knowledge of Accounting systems (Datev or comparable)
  • Self-motivated to continuously tackle challenges and improve our business
  • Excellent MS Office skills (with a focus on Excel) and preferably some experience in using Financial Performance Management tools
  • Fluent in German and English
