Role Overview:

The Senior Electrical Engineer will report directly to the Innolab Manager within the Energy division, becoming an integral part of the Innolab team. This role focuses on the innovation and development of products essential for the transmission and distribution of electrical energy, supporting various TE Energy product lines, including cable accessories, smart grid systems, insulation & protection, and connectors & fittings for low, medium, and high-voltage applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and innovate cable accessories and smart grid solutions for medium and high-voltage applications.
  • Prepare, set up, and conduct electrical testing and trials on both new and existing products within our in-house high-voltage laboratory.
  • Oversee product development and qualification from market definition through to production and launch.
  • Generate new concepts for technologies and products, transforming ideas into practical applications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
  • Provide comprehensive documentation as required.
  • Collaborate within an international development team and engage in interdisciplinary cooperation with the company and suppliers.

Required Qualifications:

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE

• Advanced engineering degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with a focus on high voltage engineering.

• Proficient in numerical calculation software (e.g., COMSOL, ANSYS Maxwell).

• Experience in setting up, executing, and analyzing experiments and tests in a high-voltage laboratory.

• Familiarity with the development of sensors for smart grid systems (e.g., voltage sensors).

• Understanding of relevant standards for cable accessories and sensors is advantageous.

• Basic knowledge in material science is a plus.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.
