Position Overview
The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams at TE Connectivity are tasked with generating innovative concepts for new products and implementing them effectively. These teams oversee the entire product lifecycle, from market identification through to production and launch. They play a crucial role in the evaluation of suppliers for new products, ensuring that quality components, materials, and services are delivered for enhanced manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include conducting feasibility assessments and testing for both new and modified designs, as well as guiding and supporting detailed design, prototype development, and manufacturing scale-up. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams are responsible for producing comprehensive product documentation, which encompasses Solid Models, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing criteria. They are also involved in creating and refining detailed drawings and conceptual models based on layouts, rough sketches, or notes, contributing to design enhancements that improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality. Key areas of expertise include: materials science, mechanics, systems engineering, electrical engineering, optics, chemistry, software development, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and the manufacturing of electrical, mechanical, and electronic components and their integration into systems.Key Responsibilities:
Develop original concepts for new products and bring them to fruition. Manage product development and qualification from market identification through to production and launch. Facilitate the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure the delivery of quality components, materials, and services. Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs. Lead and support detailed design, prototype fabrication, and manufacturing ramp-up. Generate all necessary product documentation, including Solid Models, 2D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. Create and modify detailed drawings and conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches, or notes, and contribute to design modifications that enhance manufacturing operations or product quality. Submit all intellectual property information to legal in accordance with policy and prior to public disclosure. Areas of expertise include: Electrical engineering and manufacturing of electrical components. Mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems is advantageous.Desired Qualifications:
Technical proficiency in Electrical Engineering and Energy products/applications. Degrees in High Voltage Electrical Engineering or equivalent fields. A disciplined and systematic approach to technical tasks and problem-solving. Ability to manage stress in high-voltage environments. Knowledge of medium and high voltage energy products. Language Skills: Proficient in English with strong written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in German is a plus.Core Competencies
