Role Summary

The Clinical Research Nurse III plays a pivotal role in supporting oncology clinical trials within the Lombardi Clinical Trials Office. This position is integral to the Cellular Therapy Program, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and promoting patient safety throughout the research process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with principal investigators and senior research team members to facilitate participant recruitment and eligibility assessment.
  • Engage with study participants to obtain informed consent, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory guidelines.
  • Conduct study-related procedures and assessments, maintaining the integrity of the protocol and prioritizing patient safety.
  • Assist in managing patient care across various settings, including outpatient and inpatient environments, while providing proactive communication and symptom management.
  • Accurately document all research activities in the participant's medical records, ensuring compliance with protocol and sponsor requirements.
  • Perform follow-up assessments with study participants, offering clinical and administrative support to research coordinators and nurses.
  • Ensure compliance with research protocols by reviewing regulatory requirements and implementing appropriate practices for all research activities.
  • Facilitate training sessions for staff involved in clinical trials, updating the Clinical Trials Management System with relevant patient information.
  • Document and report any serious adverse events in accordance with institutional policies, acting as a liaison with various stakeholders.
  • Participate actively in meetings, committees, and other assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, current BLS certification, and an active RN license.
  • A minimum of five years of nursing experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Preferred: Five years of clinical research experience and one year in oncology or Cellular Medicine.
  • Strong candidates will demonstrate: experience in inpatient settings, SOCRA or ACRP certification, ONS certification, and knowledge of clinical research processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail are essential.
