We are seeking a Clinical Research Nurse III to support our oncology clinical trials within the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and compliance of clinical research activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with principal investigators and senior team members in the recruitment and selection of study participants, ensuring thorough documentation and data collection to verify compliance with eligibility criteria.
- Engage with study participants to obtain informed consent, adhering to institutional policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Coordinate and conduct study-related procedures and assessments, prioritizing patient safety and protocol adherence in line with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards.
- Assist in managing patient care across various settings, including outpatient and inpatient environments, while effectively triaging communications and managing symptoms.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all study-related activities, ensuring compliance with protocol and sponsor requirements.
- Conduct follow-ups with study participants, providing necessary clinical and administrative support to research coordinators and nurses.
- Ensure adherence to research protocols by reviewing regulatory requirements and implementing appropriate practices for all research activities.
- Organize and deliver training sessions for staff involved in clinical trials, regularly updating the Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS) with relevant patient information.
- Document and report any serious adverse events according to protocol and institutional policies, acting as a liaison with relevant stakeholders.
- Participate actively in meetings, committees, and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, current BLS certification, and a valid RN license in the District of Columbia.
- A minimum of five years of nursing experience in a healthcare setting.
- Preferred: Five years of clinical research experience and at least one year in oncology or Cellular Medicine.
- Strong candidates will demonstrate experience in inpatient or Intensive Care Unit settings, SOCRA or ACRP certification, ONS certification, and a solid understanding of clinical research processes and GCP.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Reliable and capable of prioritizing multiple responsibilities effectively.
Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this position is between $66,000 and $126,720.23, based on individual qualifications, experience, and the University's needs.
