Position Overview

The Facilities Technician II plays a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency of our Distribution Center. This position involves the maintenance, installation, and repair of facility and automation equipment, with guidance on more intricate tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostics and execute preventive maintenance and repairs on powered industrial machinery and conveyor systems, adhering strictly to safety protocols to foster a secure working environment.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on building systems, including air compressors, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, with welding capabilities as necessary.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Facilities Manager and Operations team regarding the progress of repair tasks and their impact on operations.
  • Engage in project work to support daily warehouse functions and building initiatives, potentially leading projects and coordinating the efforts of team members.
  • Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), oversee work orders, and handle inventory control.
  • Fulfill additional related duties as required.

Essential Skills and Certifications

  • Proficient in computer systems for logging work performed, tracking assignments, and utilizing MS Outlook.
  • Skilled in using conveyor control systems software and shock watch system software.
  • Competent in MIG and Stick Welding, with a strong emphasis on safe tool usage.
  • Able to operate all powered equipment within the facility, including yard trucks, forklifts, and maintenance vehicles.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
  • Experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment.

Additional Qualifications

  • Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals in both paper and digital formats.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate issues effectively.
  • Proficient in time management to meet deadlines and address urgent matters promptly.
  • Willingness to work overtime, off-hours, and weekends as necessary to support operations and project completion.

Physical Demands

  • Regular lifting and carrying of tools and materials weighing between 5 to 60 pounds.
  • Frequent pushing or pulling of equipment and materials.
  • Extended periods of standing while operating powered industrial equipment.
  • Regular walking, particularly within the warehouse environment.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting movements.
  • Occasional sitting for office tasks and data entry.
  • Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to varying temperatures based on external conditions and proximity to loading docks.
  • Moderate noise levels from conveyor systems, powered equipment, and hand tools.
  • Occasional vibrations when operating powered industrial machinery.
  • Regular exposure to standard lubricants and cleaning agents used in routine maintenance, with occasional exposure to fumes and airborne particles.

Compensation: The total base pay range for this role is $26.00.
