Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to food preparation and service in our dining facilities.

• Set up and maintain serving counters, including arranging dishes, utensils, and condiments.
• Remove soiled dishes from tables and transport them to the dishwashing unit.
• Wipe or wash tables, and clean service equipment such as worktables and refrigerators.
• Prepare fruits and vegetables by cutting, scraping, chopping, dicing, and peeling.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dining room tables and chairs, and wash floors, walls, and windows in kitchen, dining, and storage areas.
• Perform headcount duties as prescribed in PAM 30-22, Operating Procedures for the Army Food Program, Appendix D, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

• No specific experience or education required.
• Must be able to perform duties under guidance after a short period of on-the-job instructions.
• English Language Proficiency Level B1 required.
• German Language Proficiency Level B1 required.

This is a full-time position, temporary until the return of the permanent incumbent, but not to exceed 2 years. Heavy lifting up to 20 lbs. required. Shift work and holiday/weekend work required.
