Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at U.S. Army Europe and Africa. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to food preparation and service, including setting up serving counters, removing soiled dishes, and cleaning kitchen equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up serving counters with glasses, silverware, condiments, and other items as instructed
  • Remove soiled dishes from tables and transport them to the dishwashing unit
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, including worktables and refrigerators
  • Prepare fruits and vegetables by cutting, scraping, chopping, and peeling
  • Operate an electric potato peeler or other appliances
  • Perform a variety of duties incidental to the maintenance and cleanliness of the kitchen area
Requirements:
  • No specific experience or education required
  • Ability to perform duties under guidance after a short period of on-the-job instructions
  • English language proficiency level A2 required
  • German language proficiency level A2 required
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position (46.0 hours/week) with shift work, including weekends and holidays. The employee must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
