Optimization Algorithm Developer for Outdoor Mobile Robotics

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Optimization Algorithm Developer to join our team at Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. As a key member of our research group, you will be responsible for developing an optimization algorithm that incorporates diverse sensor information to generate ground truth localization information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement an optimization algorithm that fuses data from various sensors, including RADAR, LiDAR, wheel odometry, GNSS, IMU, and cameras.
  • Evaluate existing approaches and derive a novel concept for calculating precise ground truth data.
  • Implement the algorithm using ROS in C++/Python and create different scenarios with our outdoor robot platform CURTmini to evaluate performance.
Requirements
  • Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Profound knowledge of C++/Python programming languages.
  • Experience with ROS and data fusion methods.
  • Enthusiasm for mobile robotics and a strong passion for innovation.
  • Fluent in English or German.
