Serco is a leading provider of space services, supporting over 50 missions for numerous space agencies and government organizations worldwide. Our expertise spans the entire space lifecycle, from satellite testing and launch services to spacecraft operations, data management, and downstream application development.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced **Software Development Team Lead** to join our growing team in Europe. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge space technology projects and work alongside a talented group of engineers.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Manage the software development lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, stakeholders, and project managers to define requirements and ensure successful project execution.
  • Contribute to the technical direction of our ECLIPSE suite of products, essential tools for effective space sector operations.
  • Design, develop, and test web-based applications using Java, Spring, Hibernate, and other relevant technologies.
  • Participate in sprint planning, stand-up meetings, code reviews, and documentation efforts.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to continuously improve team processes and performance.
Your Qualifications
  • Proven experience in software development leadership roles, with a strong track record of successful project delivery.
  • Expertise in web application development using Java EE technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSP, Servlet).
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Framework, Hibernate ORM, and other relevant frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for space technology and a desire to contribute to innovative projects.
