Application Engineer for Industrial Solutions

In your new position, you will:

  • Drive the integration and success of MOSFETs (Si/SiC/GaN), IGBTs, Diodes, Gate Drivers, Intelligent Power Modules, and discrete components.
  • Enhance the prospective market for all Infineon offerings by pinpointing potential applications within the product bill of materials, utilizing Infineon’s extensive product range (Microcontrollers, connectivity solutions, sensors, memory devices...)
  • Collaborate on the creation of new products and variations in close partnership with our forward-thinking clients across EMEA and our internal technical marketing and application teams.
  • Serve as a technical liaison and advisor to your clients in your specialized field. Identify additional technical specialists required in coordination with the Account Manager.
  • Extract client needs and market dynamics (current and future) to formulate system value propositions alongside internal teams (Marketing, Application, System Engineering).
  • Proactively oversee projects in collaboration with the Sales division to meet Design-Win objectives.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with technical decision-makers at client organizations as well as internally.
  • Conduct experiments in our laboratory within the framework of ongoing and prospective projects.
  • Assist our distribution partners, for instance, during FAE training sessions or client seminars.

You set ambitious targets, leverage the expertise of your colleagues, and share your knowledge. Additionally, you maintain a focus on profitability and can prioritize your technical tasks from a business perspective.

Moreover, you are ideally suited for this role if you possess:
  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 3-5 years of relevant experience as a (Field) Application Engineer or Design Engineer in the power electronics sector, emphasizing the selection and design of IGBTs, MOSFETs, Power modules, or Intelligent Power modules, along with their control and protection circuits (Gate Drivers, current sensors, etc.).
  • Hands-on laboratory experience, including thermal or EMC design, layout, and simulations.
  • Project Management capabilities, with a self-driven approach to follow up on action items (Who, What, When).
  • Outstanding communication skills in English; proficiency in German, Spanish, or French is an advantage.
