Customs and Trade Compliance Specialist

Position Overview
The role of the Customs and Trade Compliance Specialist involves a comprehensive analysis and continuous enhancement of all customs and international trade processes within the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Evaluating and refining customs and foreign trade operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Staying updated on changes in customs legislation and regulations.
- Mitigating risks associated with customs procedures while adhering to local requirements.
- Addressing and resolving cross-border customs and trade challenges.
- Establishing an internal communication strategy to promote adherence to customs and export control standards, including country embargo regulations.
- Leading or participating in SAP projects aimed at implementing customs processes and digitizing operations across local subsidiaries.
- Developing process documentation, guidelines, and training materials that comply with local laws.
- Creating and overseeing a group-wide Internal Control Program (ICP).
- Acting as the primary contact for interface departments and subsidiaries, providing support during customs and foreign trade audits.
Candidate Profile
- A degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
- Significant experience in customs, logistics, or international trade, along with project and process management expertise.
- Thorough understanding of customs and export control regulations.
- Additional qualifications in Customs and Foreign Trade/Customs Compliance Management are advantageous.
- Prior leadership experience in customs consulting or management is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and SAP ERP/WMS, including SAP GTS.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and German.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to convey complex information to stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel as required.
