Position Overview
The role of the Customs and Trade Compliance Manager is pivotal in ensuring that all customs and foreign trade operations are optimized and aligned with organizational goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting thorough analyses to enhance customs and foreign trade processes, ensuring effective implementation across the organization.
- Keeping abreast of changes in customs legislation and regulations.
- Streamlining customs procedures to mitigate risks associated with compliance, while considering local requirements.
- Addressing and resolving international customs and trade challenges.
- Designing and executing an internal communication strategy to promote adherence to customs and export control standards, as well as country-specific embargo regulations.
- Leading or participating in SAP-related projects aimed at the implementation of customs processes and the digitization of operations within local subsidiaries.
- Developing comprehensive process guidelines, manuals, and documentation that comply with local laws, and facilitating relevant training sessions.
- Establishing and monitoring group-wide Internal Control Procedures (ICPs).
- Acting as the primary liaison for interface departments and subsidiaries, providing support during customs and foreign trade audits.
Candidate Profile
- A degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field.
- Significant experience in customs, logistics, or foreign trade, along with expertise in project and process management.
- In-depth knowledge of customs and export control regulations.
- Additional qualifications in Customs and Foreign Trade/Customs Compliance Management are advantageous.
- Prior leadership experience is a plus, particularly in customs consulting or management roles.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and SAP ERP/WMS, as well as SAP GTS.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and German.
- Exceptional communication, teamwork, organizational, and analytical skills, with the ability to convey complex information to various stakeholders.
- A willingness to travel as required for business purposes.
