About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Astro Dynamics Engineer to join our team at Telespazio Germany GmbH. As a key member of our Flight Dynamics Division, you will be responsible for supporting the European Space Agency with highly qualified services at the European Operations Control Centre (ESOC) in Darmstadt.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, validate, and operate software that applies classical and orbit mechanics, including orbit determination aspects and familiarity with related coordinate systems & reference frames.
  • Develop solutions to technical problems in cooperation with customers and other specialists, applying expertise in linear algebra, numerical methods, and kinematics and dynamics of point masses.
  • Work on multiple activities simultaneously, efficiently managing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with other service providers in operations and other fields, coordinating and interacting to achieve common goals.
Requirements
  • University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics, or physics.
  • Proficiency in classical and orbit mechanics, including orbit determination aspects and familiarity with related coordinate systems & reference frames.
  • Experience in software development in C++ and Scientific Python, with knowledge of scripting languages and Fortran.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with the ESOC environment and current and planned ESA missions.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in MATLAB/SIMULINK, Mathematica, and shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of network services and protocols, and Linux system administration.
  • Ability to take operational responsibility in multi-discipline teams.
  • Experience in EGNOS V2/V3, with the ability to implement new and novel configurations.
  • Good presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
