Sylvania Group is seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to lead our strategic and operational procurement activities. As a key member of our global sourcing team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality materials and services that meet our rigorous standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and Implement Strategic Sourcing Strategies: Collaborate with our Category Managers and Asia sourcing team to optimize our supply chain and reduce costs.
- Identify and Evaluate Potential Suppliers: Conduct supplier assessments and establish strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Negotiate Terms and Conditions: Negotiate pricing, MOQs, quantity price breaks, delivery schedules, and quality standards with local suppliers.
- Monitor Supplier Performance: Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.
- Resolve Issues and Discrepancies: Resolve any issues or discrepancies with suppliers and escalate as necessary.
- Conduct Regular Supplier Reviews: Develop improvement plans and manage company tooling at suppliers.
- Manage and Control Purchasing Budget: Ensure alignment with company financial goals and monitor spending patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Implement Cost Control Measures: Track savings achieved through procurement initiatives and ensure compliance with purchasing processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with Internal Stakeholders: Work closely with quality management, PLMs, R&D, finance, and production teams to understand procurement needs and align strategies.
- Lead and Manage Purchasing Team Members: Lead and manage assigned purchasing team members to ensure the successful execution of procurement activities.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is a plus.
- Language Skills: Fluency in English and German are required; proficiency in other European languages is highly beneficial.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Skills: Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and cost-saving initiatives, out-of-the-box thinking, hands-on mentality, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, effective communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in procurement software and tools (e.g., ERP systems).
