We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced bioinformatician to join our team at the Max-Planck-Institut für Immunbiologie und Epigenetik in Freiburg, Germany.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct advanced bioinformatics analyses of large-scale sequencing datasets, including RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, and Nanopore long-read sequencing.
- Develop and implement new analysis tools and pipelines to support the lab's research goals.
- Collaborate with wet lab scientists to design, implement, and troubleshoot sequencing-based experiments.
- Contribute to the development of new bioinformatics tools and methods.
- Communicate research findings and results to the scientific community through publications and presentations.
- PhD degree in bioinformatics, computer science, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in R and/or Python, UNIX/shell scripting, and experience with bioinformatics tools and pipelines.
- At least 2 years of experience in analyzing OMICS data, including ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, bisulfite sequencing, and HiC.
- Strong publication record and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with colleagues.
- Payment according to TVöD up to a maximum of E13.
