Your Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Business Partner to join our Steam, Gas, and Storage team in Düsseldorf. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for interacting with stakeholders across all relevant countries to understand business needs and translate them into specific aspects of procurement strategy and supplier management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Business Partner for the three energy assets Steam (coal and biomass fired power plants), Gas (gas fired power plants), and Storage (Gas and Hydrogen storage facilities)
  • Interact with stakeholders across all relevant countries to understand business needs and translate them into specific aspects of procurement strategy and supplier management
  • Support the development and implementation of the procurement strategy in close collaboration with business unit managers
  • Drive initiatives and projects for alignment of procurement services and strategic supplier relationship management with business units
  • Prepare and run regularly a review of Supplier Segmentation and the Supplier Engagement Plans with the business unit
  • Active strategic supplier management to deliver additional value for our business
  • Responsible for all aspects of strategically important tender process

Requirements

  • Education in economics, engineering, business administration, or comparable education and equivalent professional experience
  • Deeper knowledge of the services and products to be sourced is advantageous
  • Minimum five years of experience in procurement and/or the energy industry with proven track record of managing larger procurement projects and/or tenders
  • Ability to convincingly manage a wide range of stakeholders, their conflicting requirements, and cross-functional overlaps
  • Good analytical mind-set with the ability to translate business needs into requirements for procurement and supplier base
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to identify and escalate critical topics
  • International work experience, appreciation of cultural differences, and teamplay; mobility/willingness to travel internationally in Europe
  • Excellent communication skills in fluent German and English, knowledge of additional languages would be a plus
