IT Application Supervisor for Capacity Management (Energy Transition) (f/m/d)

Location: Berlin-Mitte

Role Overview:

As an IT Application Supervisor, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, and operational management of the application landscape within the context of capacity management and redispatching.

Your Responsibilities:

Operations

  • Oversee IT service management (aligned with ITIL) and security management of applications,
  • Ensure high operational reliability, including documentation of technologies and processes,
  • Manage IT service providers to maintain high IT quality standards through SLAs/KPIs and regular reporting,
  • Participate in IT on-call duty.

Project Management

  • Lead IT project management and coordination, taking on budget responsibilities and assisting in steering committee preparations and meetings,
  • Engage in active feedback management with stakeholders,
  • Coordinate and guide development teams to implement new requirements within the ELIA group, including the enhancement of existing applications,
  • Contribute to the design of IT target solutions in collaboration with IT departments.

Requirements:

  • Collaborate closely with 50Hertz departments to gather requirements and conduct active requirements management,
  • Ensure high-quality software products by creating and coordinating test plans to uphold the highest standards,
  • Work cross-functionally, particularly with IT infrastructure, network, and security teams within the ELIA group, potentially participating in national and international committees.

  • Demonstrate empathy as an Application Supervisor, understanding user needs and translating them into practical, goal-oriented solutions,
  • Be willing to critically assess and enhance existing applications and tool chains in line with strategic objectives,
  • Embrace the role of a facilitator, aiming to integrate all IT components into a cohesive service for users.

Your Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a related IT field,
  • Extensive experience in planning, operating, and advancing energy sector applications,
  • Experience in developing complex platforms (application servers, databases, middleware, message queuing), ideally in distributed environments,
  • Knowledge and experience in requirements and stakeholder management,
  • Proficient in IT project management and ITIL-based service management,
  • Experience in IT provider management, monitoring, and operations management,
  • Willingness to deeply engage with business processes related to capacity management,
  • Familiarity with energy sector knowledge and network infrastructure standards is advantageous,
  • Basic commercial knowledge for procurement processes is desirable,
  • Proficient in MS Office and MS Project,
  • Fluent in German and English (C1 level).

Additional Assets:

  • Experience in network infrastructures and standards would enhance your application,
  • Background in the energy sector and/or knowledge in critical infrastructure environments is a plus.
