Key Responsibilities
  • Independently design and assess new test carrier formats for Point of Care (POC) platforms, including experimental evaluation of external test carrier technologies.
  • Lead the creation of diagnostic test carriers for Immunology Chemistry (IC), Clinical Chemistry (CC), and Blood Gas/Electrolytes (BGE).
  • Conduct experimental feasibility assessments to evaluate new formats and materials.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of test carrier materials, surface structuring, and derivatization processes.
  • Plan, execute, analyze results, document, and present work packages and subprojects in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Perform literature and patent research to support the conceptual development of innovative technologies.
Required Qualifications
  • Completed Diploma or Master's degree in Engineering fields such as Microsystems Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with relevant professional experience.
  • Experience in research and development within the medical technology or medical device industry.
  • Prior experience in developing Point-of-Care Diagnostics test carriers, particularly in Microfluidics/Lab-on-a-Chip or Electrochemical Sensors.
  • Willingness to work with human samples, including blood samples.
  • Familiarity with analytical methods and experience in microscopy.
  • Proficient in both German and English languages.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a multidisciplinary environment.
