Position Overview
Splunk Inc. is on the lookout for a driven and results-oriented professional to become a key member of our pre-sales Solutions Engineering team as a Solutions Engineer (m/f/d) within the German Strategic team. In this role, you will serve as a vital technical sales resource for our German Strategic sales team, assisting clients from major corporations and selected private entities.

Role Responsibilities
As a Solutions Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise to enhance the value of the Splunk portfolio by providing in-depth knowledge and domain expertise. Your primary focus will be on operationalizing Security and Observability use-cases and solutions. You will act as a customer-facing technical account leader, collaborating with customers and Splunk teams to ensure sustained success and growth.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of Splunk's offerings and their relevance to customer challenges.
  • Managing the technical engagement and overall customer experience within your assigned accounts.
  • Driving the adoption of Splunk's products across your accounts.
  • Implementing foundational solutions encompassing hybrid/cloud, security, and observability within customer environments.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with key customer stakeholders.
  • Coordinating and leading relevant Splunk technical resources to achieve optimal customer outcomes.
  • Promoting Splunk's use-cases at industry events and engaging with customers and partners.
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in selling and delivering enterprise software solutions in cloud, on-premise, and hybrid settings.
  • Experience with SaaS delivery models.
  • Background in cyber security and/or observability is highly desirable.
  • Ability to create and implement a customer technical account strategy, engaging a network of supporting resources.
  • Proven capability to establish trusted advisor status with customers.
  • Familiarity with programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Javascript).
  • Hands-on experience with public cloud infrastructure and understanding of cloud economics (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Experience in enterprise software installation, configuration, integration, and administration.
  • Experience working with large enterprise customers in Germany is a plus.
  • Knowledge in security domains such as EDR, XDR, SIEM, SOC, SOAR, as well as observability.

  • Organizational and analytical skills to navigate and resolve sales challenges creatively.
  • Willingness to travel for customer engagements.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Fluency in English and German, both written and spoken, is essential.
  • Note: We provide training on technology, soft skills, and processes. A strong sense of self-motivation, curiosity about technology, and a positive attitude are crucial.
Preferred Experience
Practical experience with the Splunk platform or similar solutions is advantageous.
