Logistics Forwarding Specialist

Working at Freudenberg: Experience Excellence in Logistics
Key Responsibilities:
Primary duties in Forwarding Management:
- Conduct thorough verification of client orders and initiate necessary adjustments through direct collaboration with Order Management colleagues.
- Generate export documentation in compliance with the export and customs regulations of Germany and the EU, as well as the import regulations of destination countries, including the coordination of inspections by service providers.
- Review freight documentation and papers for accuracy.
- Prepare documentation for hazardous materials.
- Validate and authorize hazardous materials documentation and inspect packages post-order for compliance with authorized personnel for hazardous goods.
- Place orders and ensure the transfer of consignments and freight documents to the freight forwarder, adhering to KLM guidelines, hazardous materials regulations, and packaging standards.
- Coordinate delivery schedules based on customer needs through proactive communication with internal departments.
- Guarantee timely dispatch by regularly monitoring open shipments and taking proactive measures in case of delays to achieve satisfactory resolutions for clients.
- Review forwarding invoices and initiate necessary corrections through direct communication with transport companies, external service providers, and finance department colleagues.
- Ensure the prompt return of export certificates.
- Maintain VAT documentation and accounting proof in accordance with UStDV and Klüber regulations.
- Implement proper and auditable filing systems.
- Address and manage transport damages effectively.
- Record, monitor, and process orders requiring documentary payment transactions (including letters of credit processing).
- Serve as an interface between order management and warehouse operations.
- Collaborate with freight forwarders to ensure seamless operations.
Required Qualifications:
Professional Background:
- Extensive experience in a logistics role.
- Proficiency in SAP, AEB-Assist, and MS Office.
- Proven expertise in both intra- and extra-logistics.
- Hands-on experience with Lean Management and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to make decisions based on key performance indicators.
Language Proficiency:
- Excellent written and spoken skills in both German and English.
