Key Responsibilities:
Primary duties in Forwarding Management:
- Conducting thorough verification of client orders and facilitating necessary adjustments through direct collaboration with Order Management teams.
- Drafting export documentation in compliance with the export and customs regulations of Germany and the EU, as well as import regulations of destination countries, including coordinating inspections by service providers.
- Reviewing freight documentation and ensuring accuracy.
- Preparing documentation for hazardous materials.
- Validating and approving hazardous materials documentation and inspecting packages post-order for compliance with dangerous goods regulations.
- Placing orders and delivering consignments along with freight documentation to carriers, adhering to KLM guidelines and packaging standards.
- Coordinating delivery schedules in alignment with customer expectations through proactive communication with internal departments.
- Ensuring timely dispatch by regularly monitoring open shipments and taking proactive measures in case of delays to achieve satisfactory resolutions for clients.
- Reviewing forwarding invoices and initiating necessary corrections through direct engagement with transport companies, external service providers, and finance department colleagues.
- Guaranteeing the prompt return of export certificates.
- Ensuring compliance with VAT documentation and accounting standards as per UStDV and Klüber regulations.
- Maintaining organized and auditable filing systems.
- Addressing transport damage effectively.
- Recording, tracking, and managing orders processed through documentary payment transactions, including letters of credit.
- Serving as a liaison between order management and warehouse operations.
- Collaborating with freight forwarders.
Required Qualifications:
Professional Experience:
- Extensive experience in logistics roles.
- Proficiency in SAP, AEB-Assist, and MS Office applications.
- Proven track record in both intra- and extra-logistics.
- Hands-on experience with Lean Management and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to make decisions based on key performance indicators.
Language Proficiency:
- Excellent command of both written and spoken German and English.
