Key Responsibilities:
Core Duties in Forwarding:
- Conduct thorough verification of client orders and initiate necessary adjustments through direct collaboration with Order Management colleagues.
- Generate export documentation in compliance with the export and customs regulations of Germany and the EU, as well as the import regulations of destination countries, including the organization of goods inspections by service providers.
- Review freight documentation and papers for accuracy.
- Prepare documentation for hazardous materials.
- Validate and authorize hazardous materials documentation and inspect packages post-order to ensure compliance with dangerous goods regulations.
- Place orders and deliver consignments along with freight documentation to the freight forwarder, adhering to KLM guidelines and packaging regulations.
- Coordinate delivery schedules based on customer requirements through proactive communication with internal departments.
- Ensure timely dispatch by regularly monitoring open shipments and taking proactive measures in case of delays to achieve satisfactory resolutions for clients.
- Review forwarding invoices and facilitate necessary corrections in collaboration with haulage companies, external service providers, and finance department colleagues.
- Guarantee the prompt return of export certificates.
- Ensure compliance with VAT documentation and accounting proof in accordance with UStDV and Klüber regulations.
- Maintain proper and auditable filing systems.
- Address transport damage effectively.
- Record, monitor, and manage orders processed through documentary payment transactions (e.g., letters of credit).
- Serve as an interface between order management and warehouse operations.
- Collaborate with freight forwarders to ensure seamless operations.
Required Qualifications:
Professional Experience:
- Several years of experience in a logistics role.
- Proficiency in SAP, AEB-Assist, and MS Office.
- Proven expertise in intra- and extra-logistics.
- Practical experience in Lean Management and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to make decisions based on key performance indicators.
Language Proficiency:
- Excellent written and spoken skills in both German and English.
