Apparel Product Development Manager

Transforming designs into tangible products requires meticulous decision-making and a deep understanding of both aesthetics and functionality.
As an Apparel Product Development Manager, you'll lead the entire development process for assigned apparel products, from initial concept to production readiness. You'll collaborate closely with pattern and material experts, product marketing, design, and suppliers to ensure each product meets the highest standards of quality, performance, and market appeal.
Key Responsibilities:- Take ownership of the entire apparel development lifecycle for assigned products, ensuring product integrity, technical excellence, and timely completion of all tasks in alignment with our operational calendar. Leverage your understanding of specific sports to enhance product performance.
- Manage the fit approval and size specification process, leading fitting meetings and making informed decisions regarding workmanship and construction.
- Provide technical solutions by analyzing designs for manufacturability, production feasibility, and material properties. Your expertise will ensure that products meet desired functionality and market demands.
- Ensure seamless handover of design specifications to our manufacturing partners (T1), guaranteeing that all technical information is complete and accurate.
- Act as a technical expert, guiding and consulting design and product marketing teams on T1 manufacturing efficiency suggestions. Manage feedback and communication with T1 throughout the development process.
- Stay at the forefront of industry innovation by researching new garment constructions, patterns, fits, embellishments, and trims. Collaborate with Innovation, Sourcing, Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers to integrate these advancements into product creation.
- Review, validate, and approve T1 costing information to ensure products are engineered within cost targets throughout the development process. Secure initial FOB cost quotes and follow up on price adjustments. Maintain adherence to adidas' costing standards.
- Guarantee that all fabrics, trims, colors, processes, and development samples undergo rigorous testing to meet adidas' quality and testing standards.
- Manage any quality or process escalations with senior management as needed.
- When required, review size sets for accuracy of measurements and ensure the merchantability of the complete size range for optimal fit.
- Review and approve sealing samples with complete AD (Approved Design) including all related documents prior to buy-ready dates. Ensure full compliance with published policies for a legally sound final product.
- Maintain meticulous documentation throughout the development process, ensuring clear communication and traceability.
