Your Role- Grow E.ON's sourcing activities and value contribution through physical or financial commodity transactions of a complex and non-standard nature, including Renewable Power Purchase Agreements, flexibility products, gas storages, and other transaction structures with embedded derivatives.
- Identify, structure, and capture commercial opportunities in existing and new markets for E.ON in a variety of energy commodities, such as electricity, gas, renewables, and cross-commodities.
- Develop and execute hedging and risk mitigation strategies for positions stemming from origination transactions.
- Work closely with E.ON's portfolio management and front office departments to preserve and grow the value of our portfolio under management.
- Analyze markets, identify commercial opportunities, and develop sound origination strategies, contributing to E.ON's earnings target by delivering on or above budget.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Risk, Portfolio Strategy, Finance, Contract/Legal, and external stakeholders, such as counterparties and industry associations.
- University degree in economics, econometrics, finance, physics, or engineering.
- Strong technical and quantitative skills, with excellent understanding of option pricing theories and tools and their application to physical assets.
- Able to develop pricing tools for market-based valuation of flexible power offtakes, gas storages, cross-border capacities, and other physical energy assets.
- Highly entrepreneurial individual with a proven track record in PnL contribution and in the successful conclusion of complex commodity transactions, with lead responsibility for major commercial transactions.
- Deep understanding of financial and physical energy markets, including futures, forwards, and exchanges, as well as thorough knowledge of European energy markets.
- Familiarity with market and credit risk management, balance sheet structures, asset valuations methodologies, accounting principles, particularly with respect to structured transactions.
- Experienced in and familiar with master trade agreements, such as EFET and ISDA.
- Persistence and self-motivated individual, able to excel in an unstructured environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English is required, with the ability to speak additional European languages.
