Job Title: Expert for Power and Gas-forecasting in Energy Trading

E.ON Energy Markets GmbH is a leading player in the energy trading market, and we are seeking an experienced Expert for Power and Gas-forecasting to join our team.

About the Role

We are responsible for predicting the power and gas demand of E.ON's customers within Germany, taking into account complex external factors such as temperature, weather, and economic conditions. As an Expert for Power and Gas-forecasting, you will be responsible for creating short-term forecasts, restructuring customer portfolios, and analyzing forecasting errors to optimize prediction models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create short-term forecasts under consideration of complex influencing factors
  • Continuously restructure customer portfolios and improve forecasting methodologies
  • Analyze forecasting errors to optimize prediction models
  • Supervise automated processes and interfaces of used IT solutions
  • Develop new concepts for improvements and implement them in agile projects
  • Perform ad-hoc analytics on the subject matter and support related projects
Requirements
  • University degree in a relevant technical, economical, IT, or data science subject
  • Knowledge in energy economics with a focus on German balancing and energy data management for power and gas
  • Strong analytical skills and structured, methodological way of working
  • Strong communication skills
  • IT-driven mindset and profound programming skills
  • Knowledge on database structures and analytical skills
  • Drive to change and motivation to develop, improve, and create new business activities
  • Proficient German and English skills
