Since our inaugural piloted flight of a fully electric multicopter in 2011, we have successfully completed over 1,500 test flights globally.

Role Overview

Your Team:

As the Engineering Manager for Battery Systems, you will spearhead our battery development division, fostering innovation and ensuring the successful execution of projects. Your profound technical knowledge in battery technology, including design, management, integration, production, and certification, will be pivotal in guiding your team towards achieving their objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Guidance: Leverage your extensive expertise in battery systems to navigate complex challenges, ensuring high standards of excellence in all projects.
  • Project Delivery: Ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality completion of battery projects, consistently surpassing expectations.
  • Resource Management: Efficiently manage team resources, including personnel and budget, to optimize project outcomes.
  • Leadership Development: Provide robust leadership that encompasses both technical and managerial aspects, mentoring team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Ongoing Support: Deliver daily guidance, constructive feedback, and personalized coaching to foster professional growth within your team.
  • Team Collaboration: Cultivate a collaborative and transparent environment within the battery development team.
  • Strategic Oversight: Plan and manage team capacity in alignment with project demands.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with other team leaders and department heads to ensure cohesive efforts and outstanding results.

Qualifications:

Required Skills:

  • Advanced degree (PhD or Master's) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Significant experience in battery systems, demonstrating a thorough understanding of design, production, management, integration, and certification.
  • Experience in aerospace applications, ensuring alignment with industry standards in battery development.
  • Proven leadership experience in guiding engineering teams to success.
  • In-depth knowledge of advanced battery technologies and design methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address complex technical challenges.
  • Strategic resource management skills for effective project execution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and leadership.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Comprehensive understanding of battery manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of battery certification standards and regulations.
