Senior Scientist in Personalized Oncology

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our team at the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany.
Key Responsibilities- Conceptualize and develop own research projects in personalized oncology
- Develop and manage patient-derived model systems to predict response and overcome resistance
- Supervise and mentor junior scientists, postdocs, and technical staff
- Plan and manage research projects, including independent applications for research grants
- Manage gene technology projects, including expertise according to §28 GenTSV
- Write and publish research papers, present results in the academic community
- PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant field, with a strong track record of research excellence
- Proven expertise in cancer biology, precision oncology, patient-derived model systems, and gene technology
- Experience in digital oncology, single-cell technologies, and bioinformatics
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Fluency in English and German
