Senior Scientist in Personalized Oncology

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Scientist to join our team at the Deutsches Krebsforschungszentrum (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany.
Key Responsibilities- Conceptualize and develop own research projects in personalized oncology
- Develop and manage patient-derived model systems to predict response and overcome resistance
- Supervise and mentor junior scientists, postdoctoral researchers, and technical staff
- Plan and manage research projects, including independent applications for research grants
- Manage gene technology projects, including expertise according to §28 GenTSV
- Write and publish research papers in top-tier scientific journals
- Present research findings at international conferences and meetings
- PhD or MD/PhD in a relevant field (e.g., cancer biology, precision medicine)
- Proven track record of research excellence with first-author publications
- Strong expertise in cancer biology, precision oncology, patient-derived model systems, and gene technology
- Experience in digital oncology, bioinformatics, and project management
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Fluency in English and German
