Field Service Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Thorlabs. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing new imaging systems, performing warranty-related service at customer sites, and improving internal and external service reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Install and maintain optical equipment, including lasers and microscopes
- Perform warranty-related service and repairs at customer sites
- Improve internal and external service reporting to ensure timely and efficient resolution of customer issues
- Execute preventive maintenance programs for existing customers
- Promote service contracts to customers and document field service activities
- Assist with system installation and evaluation for tradeshows
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in aligning, maintaining, and servicing optical equipment
- Prior field service and customer relationship experience in the life science/photonics industry
- Degree in Engineering, Photonics-related Technology, EE, Biomedical Science, Physics, or equivalent
- Strong communication and facilitation skills
- Understanding of customer/marketplace drivers and customer behavior
- Strong problem-solving/analysis skills related to field service
- Ability to travel 75% of the time
