Prototyping Project Manager

As a Prototyping Project Manager at Volocopter, you will play a crucial role in the design-to-build process for prototype aircrafts and components. Your mission is to successfully coordinate and manage the project, ensuring timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality delivery to our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Project Coordination: You will be responsible for the holistic management of prototyping projects at various stages, ensuring seamless collaboration with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and other involved functions.
- Design-to-Build Process Planning: You will plan and coordinate the design-to-build process, aligning with all involved functions to define requirements, deliverables, and responsibilities.
- Dependency Management: You will identify, analyze, and resolve potential project blockers and conflicts between different functions, ensuring the overall target achievement.
- Project Budget Management: You will be responsible for managing and tracking the project budget, including cost optimization.
- Transition Support: You will support the transition process from prototyping production to serial production.
- Procedure Definition: You will support the definition and management of team-internal and company-wide prototyping procedures.
- Leadership and Innovation: You will demonstrate leadership and encourage out-of-the-box thinking and innovative approaches.
- Education: Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management, Business Administration with a technical background, or similar.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in project management within a technical environment.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively in a technical environment.
- Adaptability: Experience in working in a fast-changing project environment, such as the research and development phase.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to encounter changing environments with fast, effective, and creative solutions.
- Initiative and Ownership: Showing initiative, taking clear ownership for projects, and having a solution-oriented way of thinking.
- Language Skills: Fluent in German and English.
- Prototyping Experience: 2+ years of experience in a prototyping environment.
- Aviation Industry Experience: Experience in the aviation industry.
- Process Standardization: Involvement in setting up and standardizing new processes.
