About Us
sPro - sustainable-projects is a consultancy dedicated to the management of international projects, primarily supported by the European Commission. Our focus centers on initiatives related to the sustainable utilization of marine resources. We operate the permanent secretariat of the SUBMARINER Network for Blue Growth and coordinate the EU Mission Ocean in the Baltic and North Sea. SUBMARINER serves as a collaborative platform for stakeholders across the Baltic Sea Region and beyond, promoting innovative and sustainable approaches to marine resource use.
Our Portfolio
With a robust portfolio of over 25 large-scale projects, we collaborate with a diverse network of reliable partners from across Europe, including research institutions, industry leaders, business developers, NGOs, and public sector entities. Our team comprises 35 professionals from various academic disciplines, representing more than 15 nationalities.
Business Support and Policy Team
This team is committed to assisting startups in accessing the knowledge and resources necessary to bring their innovative solutions to market. We create educational materials and facilitate information exchange to encourage collaborative efforts that advance the sustainable development of blue bioresources. Through our accelerator program, we provide mentoring, networking opportunities, and knowledge brokerage for startups and SMEs. Additionally, we manage BlueBioMatch, a platform designed to connect technology seekers and providers, enabling collaboration and growth in the blue bioeconomy.
- Developing and executing communication and dissemination strategies for EU-funded projects across various sectors, including business support, marine policy, blue innovation, and maritime logistics.
- Organizing and participating in meetings and events (both in-person and virtual), ensuring logistical and technical support as needed.
- Transforming reports and project materials into accessible articles, abstracts, presentations, and multimedia content for diverse media channels.
- Designing and optimizing the content and visual presentation of our websites, social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok), and other communication materials.
- Facilitating communication and community engagement on BlueBioMatch, the SUBMARINER Network's platform that connects innovators, researchers, businesses, NGOs, and ocean enthusiasts.
- Ensuring alignment of project communications with the overarching company communication strategy.
- A relevant university degree.
- 2-3 years of pertinent work experience, preferably in EU projects or related industry sectors.
- Exceptional English language skills with demonstrated writing proficiency; proficiency in additional languages (especially advanced German) is advantageous.
- Proven expertise in project communications, management, and verbal communication.
- Digital proficiency with a strong command of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CMS (especially WordPress), collaboration tools (e.g., Miro, Airtable), and the ability to create engaging digital content (Canva, InDesign).
- Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe for project meetings and events.
