About Us
sPro - sustainable-projects is a consultancy focused on the management of international projects, primarily financed by the European Commission. Our expertise centers on initiatives related to the sustainable utilization of marine resources. We serve as the permanent secretariat for the SUBMARINER Network for Blue Growth and lead the EU Mission Ocean in the Baltic and North Sea. SUBMARINER acts as a collaborative platform for stakeholders across the Baltic Sea Region and beyond, promoting innovative and sustainable marine resource usage.
Our Portfolio
We maintain a diverse portfolio of over 25 large-scale initiatives and collaborate with a wide network of reliable partners from all European nations, including sectors such as research, industry, business development, NGOs, and the public sector. Our team consists of 35 professionals from various academic disciplines, representing more than 15 nationalities.
Business Support and Policy Team
This team assists startups in accessing the knowledge and resources necessary to bring their innovative solutions to market. We create educational materials and facilitate information exchange to encourage collaborative efforts that advance the sustainable development of blue bioresources. Through our accelerator program, we provide startups and SMEs with mentoring, networking opportunities, and knowledge sharing. Additionally, we oversee BlueBioMatch, a platform designed for technology seekers and providers to connect, share, and grow. Users can discover projects, products, and opportunities, along with mentorship in the blue bioeconomy sector.
- Developing and executing communication and dissemination strategies for EU-funded projects across various domains (business support, marine policy, blue innovation, shipping, and ports).
- Organizing and participating in meetings and events (both in-person and virtual), managing logistics and technical support as needed.
- Transforming reports and project materials into accessible articles, summaries, presentations, and multimedia content for our diverse media channels.
- Designing and optimizing the content and appearance of our websites (text, images, graphics, podcasts, videos), social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok), and other communication materials.
- Facilitating communication and community engagement on BlueBioMatch, the SUBMARINER Network's platform for innovators, researchers, businesses, NGOs, and ocean enthusiasts to connect and collaborate.
- Ensuring project communications align with and support the overall company communication strategy.
- A relevant university degree.
- 2-3 years of pertinent work experience, preferably in EU projects or related industry sectors.
- Exceptional English language skills with demonstrated writing proficiency. Knowledge of additional languages (especially advanced German) is advantageous.
- Proven expertise in project communications, management, and verbal communication.
- Proficient in digital tools, including the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CMS (especially WordPress), and collaboration tools (e.g., Miro, Airtable), with the ability to create engaging digital content (Canva, InDesign).
- Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe for project meetings and events.
