Senior Software Engineer SAP GTS: Design and Deliver Innovative Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at BASF Digital Solutions GmbH. As a key member of our Foreign Trade Solutions team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SAP-based solutions in the areas of Trade Control, Chemical Compliance, Customer Management, and Preference Management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop SAP software applications and systems like SAP GTS and SAP GTS, edition for SAP HANA.
  • Write code, conduct testing, resolve issues, and collaborate with teams to ensure that the software is functional, reliable, and user-friendly.
  • Deliver high-quality software solutions that meet user or client needs.
  • Collaborate with customers, users, architects, business solution consultants, and coach team colleagues with less experience.
  • Foster technical expertise, problem-solving, and continuous learning to stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer with SAP GTS in the modules of Compliance Management, Customs Management, and Risk Management.
  • Excellent programming expertise in ABAP, ABAP-OO, SAP UI5, and Fiori Elements.
  • Knowledge and applied know-how in agile working methodologies and tools such as Scrum, Kanban, Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.
  • Team player with entrepreneurial thinking and a desire to drive innovation forward.
  • Excellent communication in English, language skills in German are a plus.
