Key Responsibilities- Patient Care
- Welcome and greet patients, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment
- Evaluate vascular access for patency and perform cannulation as needed
- Administer heparin as delegated or permitted by state law
- Obtain vital signs and weight prior to treatment
- Initiate dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders
- Monitor patients' response to dialysis therapy
- Document treatment data and patient information accurately and timely
- Staff Support
- Participate in the recruitment process for new clinical staff
- Assist with clinical orientation and training of direct patient care personnel
- Deliver and maintain ongoing competency evaluations/audits for PCTs
- Collaborate with the Clinical Manager and Education Coordinator to drive quality standards
- Education and Communication
- Partner with RNs and IDT staff to educate personnel on facility water systems and environmental integrity
- Ensure strong communication between Clinical Managers, Education Coordinators, and direct patient care staff
- Participate in implementing creative educational programs for PCT staff
- Record Keeping and Infection Control
- Complete and document ongoing participation in Continuous Quality Improvement activities
- Enter treatment data into designated clinical application accurately and timely
- Assist with facility QAI infection control audits
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Valid PCT national certification or state-specific certification required
- At least five years of patient care experience in a hospital setting or related facility preferred
